NARRATING PHOTOGRAPHY

The workshop is a space to explore the changing nature of the medium of photography. Binaries between documentary and fiction, new and old media, fantasy and realism, still and moving images have collapsed. This workshop will be an exploration into how photography can become a process-oriented medium to observe and explore various theoretical and conceptual frameworks. The workshop is experimental and process-oriented. We will use various new media techniques, platforms and apparatus to make and exhibit work.

Participants must compulsorily keep these items ready before the workshop:

  • Camera(any)
  • Phone

Explore the world of Paper Engineering!

Paper Engineering has the potential to provide innovative application and design ideas. What can be designed in paper can be easily translated in other materials and extrapolated to the sizes required. Paper Engineering includes Origami, Origamic Architecture, Paper Automata, Pop-up Designs and other allied arts.

Participants must keep these items ready before the workshop:

  • Origami papers: 20 sheets minimum – any type of pattern and color, and preferably of 70-80 gsm (in case of lack of availability, normal coloured paper or regular A4 printer paper can also be used)
  • Plain Bond Paper: around 30 sheets
  • Pencil, Eraser, Metal Ruler, Paper Cutter
  • Self healing Cutting Mat (optional)

BUTTON MASALA

Learn the joy of making your own clothes without any cutting & sewing! Join us for a workshop in which garments and accessories designs are developed with no thread and needles but with buttons. The workshop is being hosted by famous fashion designer and innovator Anuj Sharma who works mainly in areas of craft development and sustainability. Sharma’s other areas include teaching fashion and understanding human behavior with the help of fashion.

Participants must keep these items ready before the workshop:

  • Fabric: 2.5.to 3 meters fabric of any quality, print and colour.(instead of purchasing new fabric participants can use dupattas, sarees, bedsheets, curtains, old garments)

  • Buttons: Any size in buttons or any round object which has the size of buttons or bigger such as coins, bottle caps, pista shells, beads, lentils) – 2 to 4 dozen

  • Rubber bands: Thin hair bands-2 to 4 dozen
  • Stitching thread- Any quality- 1 spool

CARTOONPUR

Cartoonpur is an workshop arranged by “imaginative squad” to bring out exciting cartoons, caricatures and characters to life. Cartoonpur is a second series by imaginative squad after the success of the workshop “let’s draw you” by NID MP Students: Tejaswat Vivekanand Kadam, Anand Mahadevan and Kartik Mahajan.  This three-day workshop (2 hours each day) is equipped with unique experience learning, fun and engaging exercises at the same time. Starting with the basics: learn how to make Fan-art, develop your own style, one frame story telling with style, colour and how to create caricatures. Go on exciting journeys, starting with just a simple piece of paper…

Participants must compulsorily keep these items ready before the workshop:

  • Sketch book (preferably A4 or A3)
  • Pencils, eraser, sharpener
  • Pen
  • Colour pencils/sketch pens/alcohol markers
  • Any dry medium
