OBJECTIVE

  • “Symposium on Sustainable Design & Humanism – A road map from Industry 4.0 to Society 5.0” which is a truly interdisciplinary event which will put the spotlight on how Design institutions are embedding sustainable development & humanism in their core missions, and will focus on showcasing, explaining and sharing scientific research, innovative practices, projects, programmes and initiatives that Institutions are carrying out with the aim of implementing the Agenda of transformation from INDUSTRY 4.0 to SOCIETY 5.0.
  • These will include different perspectives and approaches: from research to teaching, institutional leadership and student initiatives. Taking a pragmatic and multidisciplinary approach, this Conference will bring together business leaders, academia, scholars, university professionals, practitioners, civil society, students, experts, design educators, environment educators, practitioners, design researchers and architects, advocates of sustainable development from all around the world..
  • The Sustainability and Development Initiative, based at NID MP, seeks to catalyse work and partnerships around sustainable development, such that it is not about a single discipline or theoretical orientation but is instead a platform which enables conversation across the ways in which that sustainability and development are imagined and realized.

    AIM

    • To have a strong presence in the emerging global research-led social design network. Local, deep understanding of contextual factors shaping research and practice.
    • Re-orienting education and learning so that everyone has the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes that empower them to contribute to a sustainable future.
    • To debate on actionable knowledge, methods, and skills necessary to critique, assess, and achieve the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
    • Strengthening education and learning in all agendas, programmes and activities that promote sustainable development.
    • Adopting a framework, through conversations with speakers in this event, as NID Madhya Pradesh seeks to establish that education and the environment need to become inseparable, both in and out of classrooms, to lead to a more sustainable planet.
    • To share and deliberate on best practices, strategies and models developed in dealing with environmental issues, climate change, Humanism and sustainable development.
    • To provide opportunity to the learners to deepen their knowledge and understanding about sustainable development

    VENUE

    • The symposium will be held at National Institute of Design Madhya Pradesh, Acharpura, Eint-khedi, Bhopal. There are limited numbers of rooms available on the campus for participants of the conference. Sharing accommodation shall be arranged for the registered delegates on first come first serve basis only on prior intimation at least 10 days prior to date of commencement of the symposium.
