SUDHIR SHARMA

Sudhir Sharma is the founder and Chief Executive of INDI Design and holds a post graduate degree from the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad.

A reputed pioneering Brand Design and Business transformation consultant. Sudhir has 3 decades of experience, working in India, traveling extensively in Asia / Europe region and lecturing and speaking in various universities. He sits on the various design, innovation and management Council Boards and Institutions.

He is known for his brand design work for many Indian Brands. Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finserv, Varroc, ICICI, Venkies, Standard Chartered Bank, Commonwealth Youth Games 2008, Pune City Branding are some of them.He is the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the award winning DesignIndia Magazine. 

PADMINI RAY MURRAY

Padmini Ray Murray (PhD, University of Edinburgh) is the founder of Design Beku.: a collective that emerged from a desire to explore how technology and design can be decolonial, local, and ethical.

As a creative practitioner, Padmini creates new media work which reflects her research and interests, such as Darshan Diversion (with KV Ketan and Joel Johnson), a feminist videogame about the Sabarimala temple controversy (2016); Halt The Hate (with Pratyush Raman) an interactive database of crimes against minorities for Amnesty India (2017) and is currently working on Visualising Cybersecurity – a Hewlett funded project that aims to alter how cybersecurity is depicted and discussed in the media (with the Centre for Internet and Society and Paulanthony George), and A is for AI: A Dictionary of AI (with Pratyush Raman, 2020). Padmini’s most recent published work focuses on how corporate online space, commit and perpetuate epistemological violence against the marginalised, through collusions of infrastructure and the interface.  

ABHISHEK VERMA

Abhishek is a passionate animator, filmmaker, and screenwriter. He is a young India fellow of the batch 2017 and completed his design specialization in animation & film design from IDC, IIT Bombay in 2014. He holds experience of more than 6+ years in the field of storytelling, communication design, animation, and design education. The range of work domains includes independent animation films, commercial animations, e-learnings, brand development, animation/visual design pipelines, and a design author. He co-founded the online animation studio thematchbox. co and also graphicshelf.com (the comics and graphic novel repository). 

He has penned down books on visual communication and Animation programming with McGraw Hill education for Maharashtra government. He has directed three animation short independent films and received National Film award for his hand drawn film Maacher jhol-the fish curry in 2018. He has been honoured with award by National French film academy in 2019. His upcoming projects are Kitchen-the world within and Manhole VR which is set to release by 2021.  

LAKSHMI MURTHY

Lakshmi Murthy studied design at NID and has a Ph.D from IIT, Bombay. She has both lived and worked in Southern Rajasthan since 1986. She established a design studio Vikalpdesign in 1988 and co-founded Jatan Sansthan an NGO, in 2001. She has done extensive work in visual perception and visual literacy. 

Lakshmi is proud to be a menstrual health activist, her passion to break silence on women’s reproductive health issues has inspired many young men and women. She is the innovator of Uger Cloth Sanitary Pads and keeps all her work in the ‘Copy Left” space. Dr. Murthy has previously received the Communication for Social Change – Meritorious Commendation award from the University of Queensland, Australia in 2009, an honorary fellowship from the IRN – International Rural Network in 2005, the “MacArthur Fund for Leadership Development” Fellowship in 2000 and the “Bernard Conyer’s Fellowship” UK in 1994. She currently serves as the Additional Director, Jatan Sansthan, Udaipur and is on their board. She is also a member on the Board of Design Studies; JK Lakshmipath University, Jaipur and is a trustee of the NGO, Aajeevika Bureau, Udaipur, India.   

AMITA BHATNAGAR

CEO & Founder at Chavi Agro, Chavi Silks & Chavi Bamboo jewelry. Well known for her costume design in ‘Children of War’ Directed by Mrityunjay Devvrat. She is also a design consultant for the development of the Handicrafts and Handlooms industry; training artisans, merchandisers and designers for BRAC’s outlets called AARONG, Artisans for Jute products and carpets, Metal work and jewellery,Terracotta, Jamdani saris, Tangail Saris, Jessore embroideries, Sujni embroideries, Block printing, Garments producers, Grass and bamboo products and other crafts needing to be developed locally.

SHASHANK NIMKAR

Shashank is a multi-award winner cross-disciplinary designer who enjoys working with materials and developing solutions that add value to our society.  He started Earth Tatva as a part of his graduation project for his Master’s program at National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India.

Using Earth Tatva’s recycled ceramic material he aims to turn the linear ceramic production into a circular process. Empowering the industry & studios to collectively reduce mining for natural resources by 60%, while continue making affordable, high aesthetic and functional ceramic wares.

For his work with Earth Tatva he is recognized as a circular economy pioneer by the Ellen MacArthur foundation, exhibited at Global Grad Show and felicitated with prestigious awards like REX Karmaveer Chakra and James Dyson Award in the year 2020.
